Each month we publish the median asking price, the middle range and the number of listings for every equipment type with enough listings, nationally and by region, straight from the machines listed on proxy.equipment. Every edition comes with the same numbers as a CSV file.

How We Measure
Proxy Equipment sells the machines in this report. These are the asking prices on our own listings, not sold prices and not the whole market.
A listing is a machine live and visible to buyers on proxy.equipment when the monthly snapshot is taken, counted once by its Proxy listing ID. The median is the asking price half the listings are above and half below; the middle range runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile. A type appears with at least 10 priced listings, and a month-over-month change only when the type had at least 25 priced listings in both months.
These are the asking prices of the machines listed that month, so a shift in the mix (newer or older units, bigger or smaller machines) moves the median. It is not a price index of identical machines.
